How does it feel to be Alive?

One of the things I love the most about summer is the summer music festivals. I began attending them at the age of 15 with my older brother and his friends and then got really used to going at any concerts and music festivals. It really releases my spirit and makes me happy, nothing I can really explain on a blog post.
Today I'll be talking about the Optimus Alive Festival that occurred in Oeiras, Lisbon during middle July. It's one festival I began going in 2009 and this year wasn't an exception. The line-up was so so good it would be a crime to miss it! I bought only two daily tickets, for the first and last day (it's only a three day festival).

On the first day, me and my friend Mafalda went to mainly see what would go on the main stage, the big one! Stereophonics, Biffy Clyro, Two Door Cinema Club and, my personal favorite, Green Day.
Stereophonics were great, really enjoyed their performance. Biffy Clyro were awesome, they were one of the ones I was really looking forward to seeing there. I shouted on all of the songs. Sad to say it was too short but the best was to come so, can't complain. Two Door Cinema Club were amazing! Really heated up for Green Day. Danced and sang a lot throughout their show. And then came my all time favorite punk band, Green Day. It was a very emotional concert for me since my expectations were very low on their show but then they played ALL of my favourite songs, the old-school ones! By the end of nearly two and a half hours of music and acting and jumping and screaming and singing, I was crying with all the happiness and memories this band brought to me during the beginning of my teenage life.

On the last day, it was a less emotional but not exciting day. This time, more friends joined me and Mafalda. We were mainly on the Heineken stage, the secondary stage. First we went to see The Brass Wires Orchestra, a Portuguese band, similar to Mumford and Sons. I've already saw them at a local concert but still loved them! Next, up on stage: Of Monsters and Men, a really great breakout band from Iceland. I had the luck to take a picture with one their lead singers, Nanna, in the middle of the crowd watching Kings of Leon.

(my face is just hilarious, looking like a 5 year old)

After them, we watched a bunch of bands, I won't talk about all of them, only my favorites. At about 9PM we watched one of my favourite concerts of all, Alt-J! My goodness, the whole concert was like an orgasm, really spiritual and mooding, I really loved it.

Enjoy some pics I took with my fisheye camera and cell.
